About Andreina
About Me
I'm Andreina Alvarez — a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, infant feeding and lactation specialist, and IBCLC-in-training. Since 2014, I’ve supported families in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and everything in between. My work is rooted in trust, evidence-based care, and a deep belief that you shouldn’t have to piece your support together from five different providers.
I offer one-on-one, all-inclusive care that starts from the moment you hire me. My role isn’t just to show up at your birth; it’s to walk with you through this entire process with clarity, presence, and calm guidance. My clients get private education, personalized support, and expert-level knowledge tailored to their family, their values, and their goals.
I came to this work early, watching TLC's A Baby Story as a kid and sensing even then how distant most people were from the birth experience. That spark stayed with me. I trained with DONA under Rina Rios and was selected for the year-long mentorship program at Manhattan Birth under midwife Tanya Wills, CNM. Both experiences shaped my foundation as a doula and educator.
Before birth work, I spent five years as a pediatric phlebotomist and earned my Bachelor of Science from Iona University. I draw from both clinical and holistic worlds when working with families. I’m also a mother myself, having welcomed my son after a transformative 72-hour home birth in 2022, and my daughter after a much faster but equally grounding home birth in 2025. Both births sharpened my instincts, sharpened my empathy, and re-anchored me in the power of preparation and presence.
My style is warm, practical, honest, and deeply personalized. Whether you’re planning a hospital birth with an OB or a home birth with a midwife, whether this is your first or your fifth baby, I meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence.
If you want real guidance and continuous care through your entire experience, I’d love to be your doula.
